Ikea relaunches dresser recall after death of 8th child

NEW YORK -- Ikea relaunched a recall of 29 million chests and dressers Tuesday after the death of an eighth child. CEO Lars Petersson said Ikea wants to increase awareness of the recall campaign for several types of chest and dressers that can easily tip over if not properly anchored to a wall. The death of a California toddler, who was found trapped underneath an Ikea Malm dresser in May, has raised questions about whether Ikea has effectively spread the word about the recall, which was first announced in June 2016. Crossovers are quite hip among younger parents who want to eschew the stereotype of minivan ownership. These lifted hatchbacks provide the right amount of capacity and functionality, and they're often marketed towards growing families. BMW's crossovers are as kid-friendly as any other automaker's, although a new recall may give some owners pause before setting out on a family roadtrip. BMW is issuing a recall for 188,670 X3 and X4 crossovers in the US. Globally, some 622,000 vehicles are affected.
